Ann Marie McEvoy, 45, has pleaded guilty to attempting to murder two 10-year-old boys. The incident occurred at a flat in Friskney, Lincolnshire, in November 2022. Police responded to the scene after a several-hour stand-off and discovered the children with stab wounds.
McEvoy, who was armed with a large knife, was tasered and arrested by authorities. The two boys were transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. One boy suffered multiple puncture wounds to his chest and a significant back injury, while the other sustained injuries to his neck and left arm.
Previously deemed unfit to stand trial, McEvoy was made subject to a hospital order. However, her mental health improved, allowing criminal proceedings to resume. She entered her guilty pleas, reportedly to spare the children further distress. McEvoy, formerly of Colchester, is currently held in a secure mental hospital and is scheduled for sentencing on September 18, 2026, following the review of updated medical and psychiatric reports.
