In Gurgaon, a startling incident unfolded early Sunday when a 23-year-old woman was abducted from the popular picnic spot Leopard Trail in the Aravalis. The alleged perpetrator, 25-year-old food vendor Gaurav Bhati, forced the woman into a borrowed Scorpio SUV after an argument. Police were alerted by the woman's colleague and initiated a pursuit across the city, tracking the vehicle using the woman's phone location.
Bhati drove erratically through various city areas before heading towards a secluded, hilly, and forested area. The chase ended when the Scorpio became stuck in mud in Pandala village. The woman was rescued by the arriving police, and Bhati fled the scene on foot. He was apprehended a few hours later. A medical examination confirmed Bhati was intoxicated during the crime. While being taken to the crime scene for reconstruction, he attempted to escape, resulting in a leg fracture.
