Two men who acted as witnesses in a 2025 attempted murder case were seriously injured in a brutal assault on Thursday night. The attack took place in Yashodhara Nagar, Nagpur, near Automotive Chowk, and is attributed by police to a longstanding rivalry, though the victims claim threats were made due to their witness status.
The victims, Harjinder Singh Sandhu (54) and Hartaj Singh alias Goldy Kaler, were reportedly cornered by five attackers wielding swords, knives, and sticks. They were subsequently taken to Mayo Hospital, where their condition is stable but serious.
This incident highlights ongoing challenges faced by witnesses, even with new legal protections. Police have stated they will take stringent action against those involved in the escalating criminal activities.
