19 Dec
Summary
- Wife and lover jailed for 19 years for murder conspiracy.
- Plot involved faking suicide note and a 'kill kit'.
- Husband survived attack in holiday caravan, claims innocence.

Michelle Mills, 46, and her lover, former Royal Marine Geraint Berry, 47, were each sentenced to 19 years in prison for conspiring to murder Mr. Mills. The couple had meticulously planned the murder, creating a 'kill kit' and discussing various methods, including poisoning and smothering.
The plot culminated in a fake armed raid on the couple's holiday caravan in Cenarth, Carmarthenshire, in September last year. Berry, along with accomplice Steven Thomas, attacked Mr. Mills, but he managed to fight them off. Weeks prior, a £124,000 life insurance policy had come into effect, naming Michelle Mills as the sole beneficiary.
During the trial, evidence of over 2,300 text messages between Mills and Berry detailed their chilling plans. Mills was also given an additional 18-month sentence for perverting the course of justice for attempting to destroy evidence, while Berry received the same for possessing an imitation firearm. Thomas received a 12-month sentence for his subordinate role.
