In Keerthipally village, Nalgonda district, a harrowing crime fueled by jealousy has left a community in shock. A widow, M Sujatha, aged 42, is accused of setting ablaze K Mamatha, 26, and her six-month-old son, Advith. The brutal incident occurred on Saturday morning around 11:30 AM while Mamatha's husband, K Nagesh Yadav, was away at work.
Mamatha died instantly from the horrific burns, and her infant son tragically passed away while being transported to Niloufer Hospital in Hyderabad. Police stated that Sujatha entered the residence with chilli powder, a knife, and petrol, and doused both mother and child before igniting the flames. Nagesh and Mamatha had married in 2020 and had two children. Investigators revealed that Sujatha had a prior relationship with Nagesh, and after his marriage to Mamatha, Sujatha allegedly engaged in persistent harassment and threats, culminating in this tragic act.
