20 Feb
Summary

- Wexner's deposition focused on his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
- The lawyer's frustrated outburst was captured on a hot mic.

Billionaire Les Wexner's attorney, Michael Levy, was captured on a hot mic issuing a severe threat to his client during a deposition on Wednesday. The deposition, which concerned Wexner's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, took place at Wexner's Ohio estate and was released on Thursday by the House Oversight Committee.
Levy repeatedly expressed frustration with Wexner's tendency to provide extensive answers, often volunteering details beyond the scope of the questions. After numerous attempts to prompt Wexner for shorter responses, Levy leaned in and whispered, 'I will [expletive] kill you if you answer another question with more than five words, ok?' The microphone clearly recorded this threat.
Wexner, the former CEO of L Brands, the parent company of Victoria's Secret, had a long business association with Epstein, dating back to the early 1990s when Wexner granted Epstein power of attorney and famously sold him his Manhattan townhouse for a nominal fee.
During the deposition, Wexner denied any knowledge of Epstein's trafficking crimes and stated in a written statement that he was also a victim of Epstein's con artistry, claiming naivety and gullibility. He admitted to visiting Epstein's island only once, briefly, with his wife and children.
