Tragedy struck a wedding in Hardoi when a disagreement over music hours escalated into a fatal shooting, resulting in the death of DJ operator Puttulal. The incident occurred late Thursday night within the Atarouli police station limits after the DJ concluded his performance at midnight, complying with government regulations.
The groom's brothers-in-law, Akash and Akhilesh Gautam, allegedly approached the DJ platform intoxicated and demanded the music resume. When the DJ operator refused, a heated argument ensued, during which Puttulal and his elder son arrived to mediate. The situation worsened as Akash reportedly flaunted his wealth and social status.
The confrontation culminated when Akhilesh allegedly urged Akash to shoot Puttulal, promising to handle legal repercussions. Akash then allegedly fired a shot, fatally wounding Puttulal in the abdomen. The brothers fled the scene, leaving behind a Jaguar car. Police have arrested Akhilesh and are pursuing Akash, having secured the vehicle as evidence.
