Stephanie Adair, a 29-year-old prison nurse, has pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office. She engaged in an inappropriate personal relationship with inmate Jahki Crosdale, a convicted killer, at HMP Wandsworth. The affair took place between September 1, 2023, and November 2, 2024.
Crosdale, 28, was incarcerated for stabbing Charlie Burns to death in 2015 over a cannabis debt. The relationship between Adair and Crosdale came to light when he listed her address on his court documents. Adair also used an illicit mobile phone to maintain contact with Crosdale.
An investigation into Adair's conduct began in November, leading to her temporary ban from working in prisons by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. She is still listed as a practice nurse at a GP surgery in Tooting. Adair is scheduled to cooperate with a pre-sentence report before her sentencing on February 9, 2027.
