Two individuals are being sought by South Miami Police following a wallet theft from an unlocked car at Dante Fascell Park on July 8. The victim, who was jogging at the time, discovered her wallet missing upon returning to her vehicle.
Shortly after the theft, the victim received alerts about fraudulent transactions using her stolen credit cards. The suspects attempted a $2,500 purchase at an Apple store but were unsuccessful. They later made a successful purchase of $1,285 at the same store and also bought over $130 worth of items at Grove Liquors.
Authorities are concerned about potential other victims, noting the suspects' apparent familiarity with committing such crimes. One suspect is described as a heavy-set man, aged 50-60, wearing a baseball cap. Police released surveillance video images of one suspect and are urging the public to secure their vehicles, as unlocked cars with visible turned-out mirrors are often targeted.
