Wall Breached: Man Enters Apartment Violently

A disturbing incident unfolded in Gainesville when a man, identified as 29-year-old Obed Reyes, allegedly gained entry into a family's apartment by breaching a closet wall. The 15-year-old resident, who was home with her 5-year-old and 7-year-old family members, became the target of a violent assault.

Reports indicate Reyes grabbed the teen by her hair and repeatedly punched her. She managed to escape into the breezeway, but the attack continued, with witnesses seeing him drag her and hit her while she cried for help. During the ordeal, Reyes is also accused of threatening rape.

Authorities have charged Reyes, who resided in the same apartment complex, with multiple offenses including burglary, aggravated assault, attempted rape, kidnapping, and cruelty to children. The crime has left neighbors fearful for their safety, emphasizing a profound sense of insecurity within their own homes.
