Paramount+ Doc: The Chilling Crimes of Wade Wilson

Wade Steven Wilson, now known nationally as the "Deadpool Killer," was convicted of two first-degree murders in June 2024. He received two death sentences in August 2024 for killing Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz in October 2019. Wilson's crimes unfolded in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, Florida. After strangling Melton in her home, he later lured Ruiz into his vehicle under false pretenses and killed her before running her over multiple times. Wilson confessed to his biological father in a series of calls shortly after the murders, providing details that directly led to his apprehension less than a day later.

Born in Florida in 1994, Wilson struggled with aggression from a young age and developed an extensive criminal history by his early 20s. His adoptive parents described him as increasingly erratic and depressed, exacerbated by addiction and mental illness. As of January 22, 2026, Wilson is on Florida's death row at Union Correctional Institution, awaiting the outcome of his appeals filed in August 2024.
