Over the past four days, Delhi's nightlife has been disrupted by a series of violent incidents at clubs in the Chanakyapuri area. According to police reports, two separate cases of assault have been registered in the recent past.
In the first incident, which occurred around 4:30 AM on October 26th, a club manager alleged that he was slapped and verbally abused by an intoxicated guest at the entrance of the SoHo club. The manager, who works as a gate manager, claimed he was "frightened and humiliated" by the guest's behavior. After informing his superiors, he approached the police, and a case of assault and breach of peace was registered.
In a separate incident early on Wednesday morning, a businessman and his friend were allegedly assaulted following an argument at another club, the Key Club. According to the FIR, the complainant, a resident of Karol Bagh, said he was attending a ring ceremony when members of another group kept staring at them. The situation escalated, and one of the men allegedly followed the businessman into the washroom, abusing him. When the two friends were leaving, the same men allegedly blocked their way, hurled abuses, and one of them slapped the businessman before the guards intervened. The businessman then called the police control room.
