- Vigilante actions raise safety concerns for local residents.

A dramatic incident unfolded in southeast Queensland this week when the owners of an allegedly stolen ute took matters into their own hands. Footage captured two men using baseball bats to smash their own vehicle, a white Holden ute, on a suburban street in Logan. The ute had been stolen from a worksite in Yeronga approximately three hours prior.
During the confrontation, the alleged thief attempted to flee and reversed through the front fence of a local family's home. While the thief escaped, the homeowners expressed concern that the vigilante chase could have endangered their children. They argued that police should handle such situations to prevent further chaos and potential harm.
Queensland Police confirmed they were investigating reports of dangerous driving involving a black Ford ute and the white Holden ute. Both vehicles were subsequently seized. As of Friday morning, the individual allegedly responsible for stealing the car had not been apprehended.
