The case of Victoria Hall, who vanished after leaving a nightclub in Felixstowe in September 1999, remained unsolved for over 25 years. Her body was discovered in a ditch five days later. Meanwhile, in the autumn of 2006, five women were murdered in Ipswich, leading to Wright's arrest in December 2006 and his conviction for those five murders in February 2008. The Suffolk Police reinvestigated Hall's case, now known as Operation Avon, as a live inquiry starting in September 2019.
