Milner used disguised cameras and 'burner cars' to commit the murder. Surveillance showed a masked man spray-painting cameras and a maroon van entering the garage. Kenny Fandrich was killed inside the van, and his body staged in his own car. Evidence against Milner included a distinctive forehead crease and DNA on Kenny's hands.
Milner was arrested four days after the murder. Investigators found a shrine to Tanya at his home and evidence of his use of burner cars. The maroon minivan, believed to be the crime scene, was destroyed before investigators could retrieve it. Milner's trial began on January 13, 2025.
During the trial, Milner admitted to being at the scene and spray-painting cameras, claiming he acted to protect Tanya. However, his self-defense story did not align with evidence. He was found guilty of murder and stalking, receiving a life sentence with parole eligibility after 25 years. A settlement of $1.2 million was later reached.
