Man Tortured for Hours Over Stolen Purse Accusation

A 45-year-old vendor endured hours of alleged torture and abuse at a police post and station last Tuesday. The man claims he was subjected to beatings on suspicion of stealing a purse, despite maintaining his innocence throughout the ordeal. He reported being thrashed with a stick, particularly on his knees and back, resulting in significant pain and bruising.

Following the serious allegations, a police officer identified as Keshav has been suspended and sent to district lines.
