A significant vehicle break-in operation spanning Gwinnett County and neighboring areas has concluded following guilty pleas from seven individuals. They systematically targeted cargo vans and other vehicles, stealing valuable equipment, firearms, and cash.
Investigators linked the crew to approximately 500 vehicle break-ins. The group also allegedly used stolen vehicles from Gwinnett County to commit further crimes in adjacent counties. The operation reportedly utilized a "safe house" in East Point for storing stolen property.
Each of the seven defendants pleaded guilty to violating Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, along with charges including vehicle theft, theft by taking, and criminal trespass. One member also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault related to a shooting during a theft incident. Sentences range from two years and six months to 14 years in prison.
