Vadodara police have arrested a 25-year-old woman for allegedly murdering her husband five days prior in the Tandalja area. The woman, Gulbanu Banjara, initially reported her husband, Irshad, as having died of a heart attack on November 18th. However, her suspicious behavior and frequent phone calls prompted Irshad's family to request a police investigation.
Investigators uncovered a conspiracy involving Gulbanu's lover, Tausif, and an accomplice named Mama. The plan involved Gulbanu administering an unknown substance to her husband to incapacitate him. Subsequently, Tausif and Mama allegedly entered the home and strangled Irshad with Gulbanu's dupatta, staging the death as a natural one.
Following the family's complaint, Irshad's body was exhumed on Sunday morning. The post-mortem examination confirmed strangulation as the cause of death. Gulbanu has reportedly confessed to her affair with Tausif and their months-long plot to kill Irshad. Efforts are underway to apprehend Tausif and Mama, who are believed to be in Mumbai.
