In a significant bust, Vadodara's detection of crime branch (DCB) sleuths arrested two prolific drug peddlers on Saturday. Hussain Sunni and Manoj Trivedi, collectively implicated in over 75 criminal offenses, were intercepted on Warasia Ring Road. The duo was found in possession of MD drug powder with an estimated value of Rs 1.54 lakh.
Both arrested individuals are identified as history-sheeters, with a criminal record encompassing charges of rioting, loot, dacoity, attempt to murder, and gambling. Hussain Sunni is reportedly linked to the Qasam Ala gang, notorious for various crimes across the city and state, with the gang having over 164 offenses registered against its members.
The gang members were previously booked under the GCTOC law last year and subsequently dispersed to different jails. Authorities are currently investigating the source of the drugs and the extent of involvement of other individuals in this drug trafficking network.
