Singer Vadda Garewal Acquitted in NDPS Case

A local court in Mohali has acquitted Punjabi singer Gurinderpal Singh, popularly known as Vadda Garewal, in a drug possession case. The charges stemmed from an alleged overdose incident in April 2020, where police claimed to have found 30 grams of opium in a bag at a hospital. The court ruled that the prosecution failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Garewal was in conscious possession of the substance.

During the trial, prosecution witnesses could not provide direct evidence linking the bag to the singer. The investigating officer also admitted that the bag could have belonged to someone else, and no independent witnesses were present during the recovery. Furthermore, the court found insufficient evidence regarding the charge of narcotic consumption, noting issues with medical records and the absence of an FSL report. Consequently, the singer was acquitted of all charges.
