Online Car Sale Fraud Lands Man in Jail

In New Delhi, police apprehended a 32-year-old man in connection with an online used car scam. The accused, identified as Aman Sethi, allegedly defrauded a Trilokpuri resident of Rs 2 lakh.
The victim reported that the scammer, posing as a representative from an online car sales platform, had built trust by sharing car details. He then extracted Rs 2 lakh for booking and processing fees, but neither delivered the car nor issued a refund.
Investigators followed the money trail to a State Bank of India account, using KYC documents and transaction analysis to identify the suspect. He was apprehended after being tracked to his hiding place.
Further investigation revealed the accused had a history of similar fraudulent activities, with a previous case registered at Krishna Nagar police station. Police are continuing their investigation and have issued an advisory urging citizens to be cautious with online transactions and to report any cyber fraud to helpline 1930.
