In Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide involving two 14- and 17-year-old classmates. The bodies of Shiva, 14, and Shyam, 17, were discovered on consecutive days. Shiva's decomposed body was found on September 25 in an abandoned room, with his postmortem revealing strangulation. Shyam's body was found on a railway track on September 24, believed to be from a train accident.
CCTV footage from September 23 shows Shyam and Shiva entering a Jal Kal department premises together. Shyam was observed leaving alone approximately 75 minutes later, reportedly cleaning his clothes. Shiva was not seen exiting. Based on this evidence and the autopsy, authorities suspect Shyam strangled Shiva before taking his own life by jumping in front of a train.
The motive behind this tragic incident is currently unknown. Shiva's family has expressed disbelief and demanded a detailed investigation, suspecting a conspiracy. Shyam's father also questioned the police theory, emphasizing their sons' close friendship. Police are continuing to question family and friends to piece together the events and motive.
