Sheetal reported finding Hariom and took him to a hospital where he was declared deceased. Hariom's family promptly filed a murder complaint against Sheetal, prompting her immediate custody and a police investigation.
Investigators learned the couple had argued about marriage, a persistent point of contention due to family disapproval. A previous pregnancy and abortion further strained their relationship.
During a dispute on January 18, Hariom threatened to hang himself. Police reported that Sheetal's actions, described as kicking his legs, led to his fatal hanging by suffocation.
Following a second postmortem revealing injury marks and subsequent questioning, Sheetal confessed to the crime and was arrested and jailed.
