Srivastava is accused of striking his wife, Rashmi, 40, on the head with an iron rod during a heated argument.
The couple's one-year-old son was reportedly present at their home during the violent altercation. Following the incident, Srivastava allegedly remained at the residence until Rashmi's brother discovered her body near the kitchen.
Rashmi's family has come forward alleging a pattern of harassment and abuse by Srivastava since their 2015 marriage. Her brother claims this is not the first instance of violence, stating Srivastava had previously attempted to strangle her. The family asserts the victim endured the alleged mistreatment to preserve their marriage.
