A 34-year-old ASHA worker has died during childbirth in Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh, following a C-section procedure at a private hospital. Her family has accused the doctor and his team of abandoning her in the operation theatre with her abdomen unstitched, then fleeing the premises. The husband reported that after being referred from a government health center, they found the private facility's conditions inadequate. Despite expressing concerns, the C-section was performed, resulting in the delivery of a baby boy. The woman's condition deteriorated rapidly post-surgery, leading to her death. Police have registered a case against Dr. Naseem Ahmad and his medical team under sections related to culpable homicide not amounting to murder and cheating, and are offering a reward for their arrest. The hospital has been sealed, and authorities are investigating the allegations, including claims that the doctor may not have been qualified for the procedure.
