25 Years Later: Lisa Carabello Murder Still Haunts Pennsylvania

The brutal murder of Lisa Carabello, a 40-year-old woman, remains unsolved nearly 25 years after she was found dead in her Mohnton Borough, Berks County, Pennsylvania home. On February 8, 2001, Carabello was attacked from behind at the top of her stairs, subsequently falling and sustaining fatal injuries. Her 11-year-old son tragically discovered her body upon returning from school that day. Investigators noted no signs of forced entry into the residence, suggesting the perpetrator may have been known to the victim. At the time of her death, her estranged husband, John C. Carabello, was considered a person of interest, although he passed away in 2016. Pennsylvania State Police are actively reviewing evidence and exploring further forensic testing in hopes of finding new leads. A reward of $5,000 is being offered for any information that can bring resolution to this nearly quarter-century-old cold case. The agency continues to feature cold cases on its Facebook page, seeking public assistance.
