Body Found in Canal: Mystery Deepens
22 Feb
Summary
- An unidentified woman's body was found in a canal.
- The body showed a deep injury mark on the forehead.
- Her fingers were severed, but injuries appeared old.

The body of an unidentified woman was recovered from the Moth Minor canal on the Narnaund-Hansi Road in Hansi on Saturday morning. Passers-by alerted authorities around 10 am after spotting the body stuck beneath a bridge. Police retrieved the body, which has been sent for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
Preliminary assessments indicate the woman was approximately 50 to 55 years old. Officials observed a significant injury mark on her forehead and that the little finger and adjacent finger of her right hand were severed. However, these finger injuries are thought to be old and unrelated to the current incident. Jewellery, including a gold locket and earrings, was found on the body, indicating it was not a robbery.
Photographs of the deceased are being circulated to neighbouring police stations, and missing persons records are being reviewed to aid in identification. Authorities are exploring all possibilities, including whether the woman was local or from another area, as they await the post-mortem report for further insights.
