29 May
Summary
- Approximately 12,000 doses of unlicensed weight-loss medicines were seized.
- A large-scale facility for manufacturing and distributing illicit drugs was dismantled.
- Two men were arrested during the raid on the country estate near Northampton.

A significant operation near Northampton has led to the dismantling of a large-scale illicit facility used for manufacturing and distributing unlicensed weight-loss medicines. Approximately 12,000 doses of these drugs were recovered by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) during a raid on a country estate.
Two 29-year-old men were arrested in connection with the operation, which uncovered a sophisticated setup for producing and assembling drugs including retatrutide and tirzepatide. Investigators also seized substantial quantities of packaging and suspected pharmaceutical substances.
This raid, supported by Northamptonshire police on May 28, 2026, follows an earlier MHRA warning in November 2025 about organized crime gangs creating fake weight-loss drugs. A similar, though arrest-less, operation in October 2025 also targeted illegal weight-loss drug production in Northampton.
Officials emphasized the operation's success in disrupting organized criminal activity and preventing public harm, underscoring the MHRA's commitment to protecting public health by targeting those who profit from illegal medicine trafficking.
