- He was reportedly wanted for two murders in Amsterdam in 2017.
- An inquest in Liverpool heard preliminary findings from Dutch authorities.

A Liverpool man, Paul Parker, aged 52, has died in the Netherlands after sustaining a fatal gunshot wound. The incident took place in Heerhugowaard, North Holland, on June 1. Parker was reportedly sought by authorities in connection with two murders that occurred in Amsterdam in 2017.
An inquest into Parker's death opened in Bootle on Thursday. Senior coroner Anita Bhardwaj stated that Parker was believed to have been involved in an altercation involving weapons. Dutch authorities have provided a preliminary cause of death as a gunshot wound. Earlier this month, Dutch police announced two arrests following a shooting and stabbing incident at a business premises.
Local media reports linked Mr. Parker to the 2017 murders of Pieter Hoovers and his wife Tae, who were shot in Amsterdam. Although never arrested for these killings, a cold-case team in 2024 suggested a "British criminal" was likely responsible. Parker, born in Liverpool, was identified by Merseyside Police via fingerprints. The inquest has been adjourned to December 18, pending investigations in the Netherlands.
