A criminal syndicate responsible for stealing almost 100 luxury vehicles, valued at approximately £3.5 million, has been sentenced to a combined 94 years in prison. The group operated between May and August 2024, carrying out 111 offenses across numerous counties.
Their modus operandi involved burglarizing homes to obtain car keys, often causing extensive damage and leaving forensic evidence by bleaching entry and exit points. High-end vehicles such as BMWs, Audis, Land Rovers, and Range Rovers were targeted. Recovered vehicles were found as far away as Azerbaijan, highlighting the extent of their operations.
Many of the stolen cars were disguised or stripped for parts in illegal chop shops to be sold on the black market. The gang's activities caused significant distress and financial loss to their victims, including elderly individuals and families. This investigation concluded a year-long effort by West Mercia Police, marking it as the largest conspiracy case by volume of offenses for the force.
During sentencing, the judge emphasized the severe and lasting impact of the crimes, stating that the offenders "reaped havoc upon their lives without any thought for them." The total financial impact, including damage to properties and stolen valuables, was estimated at around £3.67 million.
