Zombie Knives Banned: Man Arrested in UK Import Bust

Merseyside Police have arrested a 19-year-old man from Whiston in connection with the importation of banned "zombie knives." The blades, described as machete-style, were intercepted before they could enter circulation.

These prohibited weapons were outlawed through new legislation enacted in 2024. Possession or sale of such knives is now a criminal offense in the UK. The arrest occurred on suspicion of importing prohibited weapons with the intent to circumvent restrictions.

During the operation, two "zombie knives" were seized. The detained individual also faces charges related to the possession of cannabis. Police authorities stressed the extreme danger posed by these knives and their zero tolerance for their presence in communities.

Law enforcement officials stated that criminals attempting to source bladed weapons from overseas will be actively pursued. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to remove dangerous weapons from streets.
