Uber Driver Accused: Passenger Dragged Under Car

The defendant, 53-year-old Hayadulla Turkmani, denies the charge of murder. He is accused of fatally striking Ashton after the passenger allegedly vomited in his car.
Basildon Crown Court heard testimony from a neighbour who stated he witnessed the defendant driving his vehicle at speed towards Ashton. The neighbour further described seeing the car reverse and then accelerate forward again, dragging the victim along the ground.
The neighbour recounted hearing the sounds of the victim being dragged before he closed his curtains in distress. He later went outside to offer assistance.
