Two Colorado State Patrol troopers were shot on Tuesday morning while attempting a traffic stop in Teller County. The incident took place west of Woodland Park on U.S. 24 around 7:15 a.m.
One trooper sustained serious injuries, and the other had minor injuries. Neither has been publicly identified as of Tuesday morning.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the search for a suspect described as a white male with brown or blond shoulder-length hair and facial hair. He was reportedly driving a blue Subaru Impreza that may have had no front license plate or an obscured one.
Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area and to report any information regarding the suspect or vehicle to 911 or the Colorado State Patrol.
