Two Women Arrested for Duping Job Seekers of Rs 25 Lakh in Kerala

On November 4th, 2025, the Kazhakkoottam police in Kerala arrested two women, Rahna (40) and Jayasurya (41), for running a fraudulent job consultancy that scammed several people out of nearly Rs 25 lakh. The duo operated under the banner of SPK Job Consultancy, luring job seekers with promises of employment in foreign government and semi-government institutions.

According to the police, Rahna and Jayasurya collected hefty sums from their victims, including Rs 8 lakh from a woman from Station Kadavu for a government job abroad, Rs 4 lakh from a youth from Keerikkad for a UK-based company, Rs 6 lakh from a man from Vattappara for a UK work visa, and another Rs 6 lakh from a Kazhakkoottam resident for a clerk's post in a government institution. Whenever the victims approached the women for updates, the duo allegedly pacified them by claiming they were still "processing new job opportunities."

However, the victims eventually realized they had been deceived and lodged complaints with the police, leading to the arrest of Rahna and Jayasurya. The accused have been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days as the investigation continues.
