Tupac Killer Claims Innocence: "I'm Innocent, Man!"

Duane "Keffe D" Davis, recently convicted in the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur, is strongly maintaining his innocence. As he awaits sentencing on October 13, Davis declared to the Hollywood Reporter that he is an innocent man wrongly imprisoned. He asserts he was not involved in the shooting and was not present at the crime scene in Las Vegas.

Davis plans to challenge his conviction through an appeal, expressing confidence in its success. He alleges that federal authorities violated a non-prosecution agreement previously made with him. This agreement, he claims, was intended to protect him from prosecution in exchange for his testimony regarding Tupac's murder. Davis stated this deal came from the Department of Justice and was not to be used against him in court.

During a 2008 interview with federal authorities, Davis had confessed to orchestrating the murder. He admitted to obtaining the weapon and seeking out Tupac and Suge Knight following an earlier altercation. However, Davis's defense attorney argued during the trial that these statements were merely boasts made to promote his book.

Davis also claims he was in Los Angeles at a bar near UCLA on the night of the murder, having attended a Mike Tyson boxing match in Las Vegas earlier. He stated he returned home the following morning to his children.
