Two suspects involved in a triple murder case were arrested by Gahmar police after sustaining leg injuries during an encounter on Thursday. The incident unfolded when police, acting on an informer's tip, located the accused hiding in an orchard. The criminals allegedly initiated a gunfight, prompting police to fire in self-defense, resulting in the suspects being shot in the legs.
During the exchange, two country-made pistols and cartridges were seized. The injured duo, identified as Aman Singh, 19, and Arvind Singh, 22, were transported to a local hospital. This apprehension marks a significant step in the investigation into the December 24th murders of Vicky Singh, Saurabh Singh, and Ankit Singh.
The triple murder, which involved the assailants dumping the victims' bodies into a pond, led to an FIR against 12 named individuals and others. Authorities have since recovered two bodies from the pond, with the third found on December 30th after the water was drained. With these latest arrests, a total of five accused are now in custody.
