A 48-year-old owner of a skill development institute in Trichy, identified as the proprietor of Samuthrika Academy, has been booked by police. The charges stem from allegations of assault and cheating made by a 26-year-old fashion designing trainer. The trainer, who joined the Thillai Nagar-based academy on August 15, submitted her original college transfer certificate upon commencement of her employment.
According to reports, the situation escalated after the trainer took a day's leave and returned to work on September 2. The owner allegedly reprimanded the trainer. Subsequently, when the trainer resigned and sought the return of her certificate along with her pending salary, the owner reportedly resorted to verbal abuse and refused to return the documents or disburse the owed wages. Thillai Nagar police registered a case and arrested the owner, who was later released on bail.
