In Trichy, seven individuals, including three brothers and three minors, have been arrested following a spree of bill hook assaults. The arrests by Cantonment and KK Nagar police occurred after multiple victims reported being attacked.
The violence appears linked to prior disputes. One incident involved a confrontation about smoking and chatting near a resident's home, escalating weeks later into an assault. Another attack occurred when two suspects argued with a man at a liquor outlet, subsequently waylaying him and his relative on their motorcycle.
A third incident involved three brothers and three minors confronting a homeowner with a bill hook, stemming from a previous objection to their liquor consumption. The adult accused were remanded in judicial custody, while the minors were sent to an observation home.
