Jilted Lover's Brutal Attack Leaves Two Dead in Mumbai

On October 25, 2025, a tragic incident unfolded in Mumbai, India, as a 24-year-old man named Sonu Barai attacked his ex-girlfriend, Manisha Yadav, also 24 years old. The couple had dated for 9 years but broke up just 10 days prior to the incident.

According to witnesses, Barai and Yadav were walking on Dattaram Lad Marg near Chinchpokli when they began arguing. Barai then pulled out a kitchen knife and repeatedly stabbed Yadav on the road. Yadav tried to flee, running towards a nearby nursing home, but Barai chased her and continued the assault inside the facility, in front of staff and bystanders.

Despite attempts by onlookers to stop him, Barai did not relent, stabbing Yadav until she collapsed. As the crowd closed in on him, Barai then turned the knife on himself, slitting his own throat and dying on the spot. Yadav was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries around 5 pm, nearly 7 hours after the attack.

Police have recovered the murder weapon and are investigating the incident, which appears to have been fueled by Barai's suspicions about Yadav's fidelity in the months leading up to their breakup.
