On the morning of October 14, 2025, a horrific incident unfolded in Hosur, a city in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. A 45-year-old man, Siva Boopathi, from Tuticorin district, strangled his two minor sons, Narendra Boopathi (14) and Latheesh Boopathi (11), before taking his own life.
According to the police, Siva Boopathi was engaged in online share trading, while his sons were enrolled in classes IX and VII at a government school in Samathuvapuram, Hosur. Preliminary investigations revealed that Siva had incurred significant losses in his online trading activities, which led to a dispute with his wife, Parvathy. Upset with the situation, Parvathy had left for her hometown a week prior to the incident.
On the fateful morning, Siva's brother, Sivaprakasam, grew concerned when the door of Siva's house remained closed. He promptly notified the Hudco police, who broke open the door and discovered the tragic scene. Siva was found dead by suicide, while his two sons had been strangled to death.
The police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations to determine the exact circumstances that led to this devastating incident. The bodies of the victims have been sent to the government hospital in Hosur for postmortem.
