On July 23, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI) in Wisconsin. Newly released body camera footage shows Romo informed the arresting officer that he was en route to visit his grandparents following a golf tournament.
During the stop, Romo initially requested to contact his lawyer before exiting his vehicle to perform field sobriety tests. According to authorities, he performed poorly on these tests.
Following his arrest, Romo was also cited for refusing an intoxication test, which puts his driving privileges in jeopardy. He has requested a hearing to contest the citation but could still face a year without his license.
