In Tiruttani, a disturbing incident unfolded on Monday when a gang of at least 10 men targeted a Class X student. The group harassed the student as she returned home from her public examination, making inappropriate comments and causing a disturbance. When her brother intervened, the gang became aggressive, reportedly following the student to her home.
Subsequently, the perpetrators, armed with hammers and logs, went on a rampage in Veeraganallur village. They smashed window panes of multiple houses, damaged ceiling fans, and vandalized parked motorcycles and autorickshaws. The gang also performed dangerous stunts on their bikes, further alarming residents. Following the incident, over 100 villagers staged a road blockade, demanding swift arrests.
