Melissa Gilbert's Husband Indicted for Abuse
16 Feb
Summary
- Timothy Busfield faces four counts of child sexual contact.
- He surrendered to authorities after an arrest warrant.
- Busfield's attorney claims the case is unsound.

Timothy Busfield, the husband of actress Melissa Gilbert, surrendered to authorities on child sex abuse charges and was later indicted by a New Mexico grand jury. He faces four counts of criminal sexual contact of a child. Initially arrested on January 13, Busfield was held without bail but released on January 20 with conditions.
The charges stem from allegations by two 11-year-old twins who claim Busfield, known as "Uncle Tim" on the set of "The Cleaning Lady," touched them inappropriately. Busfield's attorney, Larry Stein, has strongly refuted the charges, calling the case "fundamentally unsound" and stating it cannot be proven in court.
Melissa Gilbert has publicly acknowledged the difficult period her family is enduring, expressing her commitment to her family while returning to her role as chief creative officer for the Modern Prairie brand. Busfield's first arraignment is scheduled for March 10.
