TikTok Trend Gone Wrong: Man Injured, Driver Sentenced

A driver has received a suspended sentence for causing serious injury to a friend during a dangerous TikTok trend. The incident occurred at a car enthusiast meet-up in a car park when the victim fell from the bonnet of the car, sustaining a severe head injury.

The 23-year-old driver was handed a 16-month sentence, suspended for two years, at Lewes Crown Court. He was also disqualified from driving for two years and ordered to complete 300 hours of unpaid work. The victim suffered a traumatic brain injury, was unconscious for nearly a month, and required multiple surgeries.

Authorities described the driver's actions as "mindless and irresponsible," emphasizing the life-altering consequences for both individuals involved. The case serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers associated with imitating viral online challenges without regard for safety.
