TikTok Star Accused in Murder-for-Hire Plot
20 May
Summary
- TikTok influencer faces criminal charges for alleged murder-for-hire.
- Plot allegedly aimed to pressure ex-partner over child custody.
- Influencer's father also arrested in connection with the conspiracy.

TikTok influencer Gabbie Gonzalez has been formally charged with three criminal counts related to an alleged conspiracy to commit murder. Court documents reveal the charges stem from a dispute over child custody involving her seven-year-old daughter and former partner, Jack Avery.
Prosecutors allege that in March 2021, Gonzalez and a friend, Kai Cordrey, initially sought to involve former MMA fighter Dustin Barca to scare Avery into leaving Kauai. Barca has not been charged and was not involved in illegal activities. The alleged plot escalated when Gonzalez, her father Francisco Gonzalez, and Cordrey reportedly searched for a hitman on the dark web.
Gonzalez appeared before a Los Angeles County judge, who set her bail at $2 million. She was arrested last week in Humboldt County, California, while attempting to board a flight. Her father, Francisco Gonzalez, was arrested separately in Florida.
Following Gonzalez's arrest, Jack Avery sought and was granted a temporary restraining order against her. This order prohibits Gonzalez from contacting Avery or approaching him and their daughter within 100 yards amid the ongoing criminal proceedings.
