Golfer Tiger Woods has announced he will be stepping away from the sport temporarily to seek treatment and prioritize his health. This decision comes after he was charged with driving under the influence in Florida following a rollover car accident that occurred on Friday. Woods stated on X that he understands the seriousness of the situation and is committed to returning in a healthier and more focused state.

According to reports, Woods had two hydrocodone pills in his possession at the time of his arrest. His arrest warrant also indicated he was distracted by his cellphone and changing the radio station when the accident occurred, clipping another vehicle. Woods' attorney appeared in court on Tuesday and entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf. This incident follows previous legal and health challenges for the golfer, including a 2021 rollover crash in Los Angeles that resulted in severe leg injuries.
