Tiger Woods Arrested for DUI After Crash

Golfer Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under the influence on March 27, following a single-vehicle rollover accident in Florida. Woods was taken to the Martin County Jail after initially being transported to the Cleveland Clinic for medical clearance due to the car crash. He refused all medical treatment and was discharged back to jail.

Woods faced charges including DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer test. Evidence presented in the arrest affidavit indicated his normal faculties were impaired, with police noting he was sweating profusely and his movements were lethargic. He admitted to taking prescription medication earlier that day.

During sobriety tests, Woods, who has a history of back and leg surgeries, exhibited bloodshot and glassy eyes and dilated pupils. He claimed distraction from his cellphone and the radio immediately before the crash, stating he did not realize the pickup truck ahead had slowed. A breathalyzer test at the jail showed no alcohol, but he refused a urine test for chemical substances, understanding it would lead to another charge.
