Gang Reconned Bollywood Stars Before Shroff Attack
26 Oct
Summary
- Shooters allegedly surveilled multiple Bollywood actors before Shroff.
- The attack on Tiger Shroff was reportedly the third attempt.
- Gang members claimed instructions came from gangster Anil Pandit.
The shooting incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff on October 18 was allegedly the third attempt by the assailants. Interrogations revealed that the shooters conducted reconnaissance of several Bollywood actors before focusing on Shroff.
According to sources, the three shooters, identified as Phool Singh, Rehan Ansari, and Rithik Mahato, reportedly received instructions from gangster Anil Pandit in the first week of October. They were tasked with identifying potential targets, including prominent actors like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Amitabh Bachchan.
The accused allegedly found it difficult to locate these stars or get close enough for an attack. Subsequently, Pandit allegedly instructed them via voice notes to target Tiger Shroff, son of actor Jackie Shroff.
During the second week of October, the shooters learned that Shroff frequented the MMV Matrix Gym in Khar. They reportedly spotted him outside the gym but were not prepared to attack. The following day, Shroff did not appear.
Seeking further information, the shooters inquired with an auto-rickshaw driver, who allegedly directed them to a ground in Juhu where Shroff played football. The shooters reportedly lay in wait on October 11 but Shroff did not arrive. They eventually returned on October 18, armed and prepared to execute the attack.
The firing resulted in injuries to Shroff's driver and a vlogger, while the actor sustained minor injuries. Police are currently searching for the auto-rickshaw driver to serve as a witness.
