Ishay Raj, after successfully breaking into a home and stealing gold and cash, was intercepted by four youths who robbed him of his haul. Believing this misfortune would invite further bad luck, Raj impulsively committed two more burglaries shortly thereafter.
Raj's subsequent crimes involved stealing additional gold and a significant amount of cash. CCTV footage helped police identify him, leading to his apprehension in Erode, Tamil Nadu, where part of the stolen property was recovered. Investigations then focused on the youths who had intercepted him near a cemetery.
Authorities confirmed the unusual sequence of events through CCTV analysis and subsequent interrogations. The four youths, all in their twenties and without prior criminal records, were arrested in Mandur. The swift police action brought closure to the strange case, involving a burglar, his assailants, and a cascade of break-ins.
