Human Remains Found in Texas Hunting Area
30 Sep
Summary
- Possible human remains discovered in a Texas wooded area.
- Remains may be linked to a man missing since November 2022.
- DNA analysis pending for identification of the skull found.

Human remains, including a skull, were discovered on September 24, 2026, in a wooded area off FM 82 in Newton County, Texas. The discovery was made near the Wildlife Cat Refuge, an area where 38-year-old Joshua Larkin was last seen on November 17, 2022. He had told his mother he was going hunting with friends.
Sheriff Colton Havard confirmed the remains appeared to be adult human and have been submitted to the University of North Texas for DNA analysis and identification. Larkin's locked car was found the following day with his belongings, leading to suspicions of foul play.
In November 2025, four suspects were arrested in connection with Larkin's disappearance. Charges included murder and tampering with evidence. However, earlier this month, murder charges against two suspects were dismissed due to a lack of physical evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
Authorities are seeking information from the public regarding Larkin's disappearance. Anyone with details can contact the Newton County Sheriff's Office directly. The case remains under active investigation.
